Quotes from the Campaign Trail

First Lady in waiting Michelle Obama:

"
For the first time in my life, I am really proud of my country."
I guess we can assume she has not been proud of her country until now? If Barack Obama loses will she go back to not being proud of her country again?

Barack Obama's response to plagiarism charges coming from the Clinton camp:

"I really don't think this is too big of a deal"
I will be sure to cite that remark to my college professors.

As a side note: Hillary Clinton has been guilty of plagiarism in the past as well, including lifting lines from her own husband. Read about that in the blog POP!

Presidential "candidate" Mike Huckabee:

"I may be killing my political career"

Ya think? Hey you can always go back to your other job of hating Mormons.

Former President George Herbert Walker Bush on conservatives criticizing McCain’s conservative credentials:

"You know, if you've been around the track you hear these criticisms and I think they are grossly unfair. He's got a ... sound conservative record but he's not above reaching out to the other side" he said.

Yes McCain can reach over to the other side, but the problem is he has a hard time reaching over to our side. And, with all do respect sir your penchant for reaching across the isle at the expense of your base is exactly why you were only a one term president.

"So I hear these criticisms and Barbara knows I get a little bit annoyed about them frankly," he said, later dismissing them as "absurd."

Sorry if our criticism annoys you Mr. President and that you feel that our opinions are absurd. I’ll just say “Read my lips, McCain is no conservative”.

Speaking of the "conservative" John McCain, here is what he had to say about Hillary Clinton only this week on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos:

"The likely Republican presidential nominee said Clinton "would be a good president in the respect that I think she has integrity, I think she has all of the qualities that are necessary, but she has a very different philosophical view, the liberal Democratic view, than I have, which is conservative Republican."

With "conservatives" like John McCain who needs liberals?
