Vanity Fair has lowered themselves even further into the sewer. They have now decided to take up soft child pornography. In their upcoming issue they are featuring a semi-nude photo of Miley Cyrus aka Hannah Montana sporting a come-hither look wearing nothing but a satin sheet. She is only 15 years old.


Miley Cyrus has issued a statement saying she is embarrassed by the photo and the story included in the magazine. Disney has sent a strongly worded letter to Vanity Fair accusing them of exploiting a 15 year old to sell magazines. Disney has invested a lot in Miley Cyrus and Vanity Fair's action could jeopardize that.

Pop star and 15-year-old Disney sensation MILEY CYRUS tells ET she's "embarrassed" about an upcoming photograph of her appearing semi-topless in the new Vanity Fair issue.

"I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed," she tells ET. "I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about."

The photo, on stands next week, accompanies an interview with Miley and her dad, BILLY RAY, and were shot by famed photographer ANNIE LEIBOVITZ. As seen on our show promo last week, they show Miley sitting in profile with just a blanket wrapped around her chest.

Vanity Fair editors respond: "Miley's parents and/or minders were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley. In fact, when BRUCE HANDY interviewed Miley, he asked her about the photo and she was very cheerful about it and thought it was perfectly fine."

However, a Disney Channel spokesperson says: "Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines."

I think a criminal investigation is in order against the photographer, Annie Leibovitz and the editors of Vanity Fair. Miley Cyrus is a role model to millions of young people, especially girls including my 11 year old. It would be a tragedy for Miley to go down the same road as tragic figures such as Lindsay Lohan, and Brittany Spears. Vanity Fair's irresponsible actions may help put her down that primrose path. Some of the blame must to her parents who were reported to be present at the photo shoot, but they may have been manipulated as well. Hopefully this incident will teach Miley and her parents to be more careful in what they allow others to do with Miley's image.
