Hope They Don't Eat Each Other Up

By admin · Friday, September 18th, 2009

The gingham dog went “Bow-wow-wow!”/And the calico cat replied “Mee-ow!”/The air was littered, an hour or so,/With bits of gingham and calico.  Sounds a bit like a health care debate, doesn’t it? Perhaps it’s time (and not too late)/ for the good people of the United States/to cease their shouting and meditate. Okay, so I’m not Eugene Field, but you get the picture anyway, right? Nothing good comes from angry shouting and fighting (just ask the old Dutch clock or the Chinese plate).

Surely there are answers to be found that will bring our health care system into the twentieth century. Yes, I know that it is currently the twenty-first century, but compared to the health care provided to the citizens of other industrialized countries, the United States has a long way to go.  Hopefully, the debaters won’t “eat each other up” before a thoughtful, compassionate health care bill is passed into law.
