What Yoga Exercises Can Do for You
Yoga practitioners have discovered that regular yoga practice awakens both mind and body! Doing each pose correctly requires your complete attention, and such focus awakens your mental awareness. Your “outer body” benefits as each pose nourishes, energizes, and revitalizes every cell, fiber, and tissue as a result of enhanced breathing, flexibility, strength and alignment. The goal of yoga practice is to create a union between the body, mind and spirit.
Patience is not only a virtue, it is the “key” to mastering a yoga pose, especially when combined with ample time and commitment. No one is a master the first time they attempt to do anything. But, slowly over time, as you practice and attempt to perform each pose perfectly, without pushing yourself too far physically or beating yourself up mentally, you will find that you are developing flexibility, strength, and energy physically and feeling more peaceful and clear mentally.
Try to create a clean, peaceful space for your yoga practice, with a bare floor, if possible, and a clear wall. Remove any distractions from your yoga environment. Ideally, you should not eat for at least 2 hours before practicing. If you can’t go without eating, then try to eat something light, such as a piece of fruit, but no more than 1 hour before you start your yoga practice.
Always be mindful with your movements, and if you encounter pain or discomfort as you attempt a pose, pause or stop, and then try again.
Yoga props and yoga accessories, such as yoga mats, yoga bolsters, yoga straps, yoga blocks, yoga mat bags, and even yoga towels are perfect for aiding you in moving deeper into a pose, in performing an impeccable pose, and in practicing in a sound way.
There are quite a few great reasons to think about using yoga props, not the least of which is that they aid in relieving discomfort, even pain, during difficult yoga poses.
On occasion we all “push” instead of “ease” into a yoga pose, and injury sometimes occurs. Yoga props can provide the support and extensions needed to do a pose correctly.
Doing yoga releases rigidity, and using props helps with stress relief by offering the support you require to relax (but not be lazy) in your practice.
As we mentioned earlier, yoga exercises are concerned with unifying the mind, body and spirit through the nurturing of a deeper awareness and the augmentation of mindfulness. How can yoga props assist in this great goal? When you are able to simply focus your awareness on doing your yoga poses perfectly, rather than worrying about transitory limitations, you will go deeper into that balance of mind, body, and spirit.

Its a nice intro for anyone looking to start a yoga practice. Also, a point to be noted is that many people who begin yoga – will in the first week experience a fever, cold, skin rash or some other pain. This is generally because the body is expelling dormant toxins that are present within. AS such it is a cleansing effect on the body.
